Future Archers will begin where they should have always begun — with Earth — and ascend through the elements in order.

But the correction comes too late for me.

I have already drawn the Fire arrows. And Fire is merciless. Each arrow consumes life energy. Every shot burns a portion of the Archer who releases it.

The Necromancer once told me that action always demands payment. Power must be spent before it can be regained. Many Archers failed here, because they misunderstood the nature of Fire. They believed it was a weapon. It is not.

Fire is a chain of consequences.

A careless spark devours nothing but the Archer’s strength. But a spark placed with precision can ignite an entire battlefield. The difference between failure and survival is not strength. It is judgment.

If I have learned anything from the deaths of the Archers after me, it is this: One ignition, placed wisely, can burn everything.
