J. V. Morris

J. V. Morris is the author of the upmarket, literary fantasy novel entitled "God's Empty Quiver."

J. V. Morris is a movement poet and literary heathen who writes from the intersection of the sacred and the transgressive. Armed with an MFA from UCLA and a bad attitude about binaries, his work blends myth, mysticism, and ritual into stories that question power, faith, and freedom.

God’s Empty Quiver is his debut novel. This apocalyptic vision of the Siege of Heaven begins in plague-stricken Florence where resurrection loops, theological betrayal, and witches’ fury unravel the Gates of Eternity. It is the first in a speculative constellation of stories that pushes at the boundaries of identity and belief.

When not arguing with archangels or creating footnotes and appendices no one asked for, he’s coaching humans into bodies they actually want to live in, choreographing chakras into alignment, or letting demons slip off the page and into the world. He detests sensible snacks.

What if God needs us more than we need him?

God’s Empty Quiver

Florence, 1348. The Black Death spreads like wildfire – but plague is not the only force threatening the city. Beneath its cobbled streets and sanctified cathedral, a deeper war unfolds: Between Heaven and Hell, faith and freedom, creation and collapse.

In the chaos, a devout archer is chosen to wield a miraculous relic – a bow that conjures metaphysical arrows, each one capable of salvation… or annihilation. As Florence crumbles, the Archer is resurrected through a series of violent deaths, each return unraveling certainties once held sacred.

Chosen by angels. Armed by saints. Betrayed by Heaven.

The deeper the Archer descends into the war’s hidden layers, the more blurred the sides become. Witches fall in love. Angels fall silent. And in the silence, darker truths rise: Not all who serve Heaven are good, and not all demons want the world to burn.

In a world fractured by dogma and divine politics, one soul must decide whether salvation lies in obedience… or rebellion. Failure will extinguish humanity.
